Is Moviepass REALLY Worth It?

Welcome back friends! I’ve had my blog up and running for a few weeks now and focus a lot on my movie reviews. I’m sure it’s assumed that I purchase a ticket for every single movie I see, right? POOF, that’s incorrect! As a college student, I can’t afford to pay $13 a movie… so that’s where Moviepass comes in. Moviepass is an online deal that allows you to see movies EVERYDAY of the month for a monthly price. The monthly subscription is $9.95 and allows you to see a new movie everyday of the month. I suggest checking what theaters apply for this promotion because not all of them do. You can easily locate all of the participating locations on the Moviepass website.
Basically you sign up on the app and wait for a “credit card” in the mail. There is a catch though.  When wanting to see a movie, you have to be within like a mile of the theater. When you are ready to redeem your ticket, you will select your theater and specific movie you want to see that is listed on the app. Then the app will magically load the amount of money on the Moviepass “credit card” needed for the ticket! That’s it! Don’t be discouraged if you aren’t tech savy or are confused on what I am saying haha. The app guides you through everything when you sign up!
I have had my Moviepass since February and have seen 25 movies. So I have only paid around $40 for $325 worth of tickets! This is such a nice promo if you enjoy going to the movies, and ultimately makes date night much cheaper.


I’m including a pro/con list to really breakdown if you’d consider this worth it (I think it is):

$9.95 a month is a steal, especially since movie tickets nowadays are $13.
Not every theater honors this promotion so make sure to check before buying.
You can see a movie everyday of the month!
They implemented a new policy where you can only see every movie once.
The pass works at all participating locations, so you can always pop in for a movie while traveling!
You have to be less than a mile away from the theater in order to select your movie through the app.
This is such an inexpensive date! Perfect for movie goer couples.
You cannot buy tickets ahead of time so good luck on an opening weekend.

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TRASH! You better pray that you have no issues in the process, or you’re fucked. They have no interest in getting back to you as soon as possible, so get comfy.

They constantly are changing their policies, so this list may not even be accurate by the time you read this.
Even though there are more cons than pros, it is still totally worth it and highly recommend!

Trader Joe's "Breakfast Trek Mix"

Rating: 6/10 Let me start by asking, what the hell is trek mix? I’m just going to assume it’s another word for trail mix. I enjoy this, but I don’t need it in my life. The TRAIL mix consists of granola balls, almonds, dried cranberries and yogurt chips. The flavors are great, between the saltiness of the almonds and the sweetness of the yogurt chips. But, it doesn’t do enough for me. This is perfect for a snack… a small snack. If you’re at Disneyland and eat this thinking you’ll no longer feel hungry, then you’re stupid and guess what? Still hungry. I wouldn’t recommend this for a legit snack to keep you full, but more of a snack when you barely start getting hungry. I eat these in my classes, so I’m not too obnoxious bringing full ass meals into a lecture hall. What is great about these, are that they are individually packaged! Trader Joe's "Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice"

YES YES YES 10/10               This is amazing! I’ve read that Trader Joe’s carries really good Indian food, so I wanted to try it for myself. I wouldn’t consider myself a lover of Indian food… usually. But this meal made me think otherwise. The microwave instructions are more intense than the typical frozen meal, but it is worth it for something that tastes so authentic. You’re supposed to put it in the microwave for 5 minutes on “defrost mode”. Then you’ll cook it regularly for 4 more minutes.  One of the things I love is that the meat/sauce and rice are seperated. So don’t stress about soggy rice! The portion of this is so big. It is such a realistic size for a meal, unlike Healthy Choice meals lol. You know how you get frozen meals and the chicken is  nonexistent? Well don’t be scared of that her e. There are hu ge pieces of juicy chicken in a pool of yummy sauce.
