Book Review: The Secrets of My Life

The Secrets of My Life
by Caitlyn Jenner
Rating: 6/10

The Secrets of My Life by Caitlyn Jenner received a solid 6/10 from me. I was interested in thi
book after seeing how the Kardashians reacted to how they were portrayed. If that’s the only
reason why you’re interested, then don’t fucking bother. The Kardashians don’t get brought up
until the last 100 pages of the book. The only shade being thrown was already stated in an episode
of KUWTK, and nothing more. Caitlyn literally only says that Kris was in control of Bruce's
(since she was Bruce at the time) money. Poof, that’s it. If I was aware of how little tea was
spilled, I would have passed on the book.

With that being said, it was heartbreaking (in an interesting way) to read about how miserable
Bruce was all his life leading up to the transition. It really put into perspective how little we truly
know about these famous celebrities and the misery behind their smiles put on for the cameras. I
will be honest, I couldn’t put the book down knowing that I was reading the secrets about
someone I’ve been watching on TV for years.

Overall, it was a good read. I don’t read for shit, so just the fact that I finished a book was an
accomplishment in itself. I would highly recommend if your interests regard the secret life of the
world famous Olympian, Bruce Jenner. If your only goal was to be a chismosa (me) and hear the
chisme about the Kardashians (also me), then just stick with KUWTK. I personally would not
read this for a second time but let's keep in mind that this is the first book I’ve willingly read in
years, so are we really shocked by this decision?
